Sometimes bird watching
requires the assistance of a spotting scope. This is very useful when
you are out there looking at shore birds or waders. And there are
times, when you are overlooking a valley, a scope helps to scan the
area easily.
A spotting scope is a
portable telescope, optimized for the observation of terrestrial
objects. The magnification of a scope is typical at 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x
and up to 60x. Some of the common features of a scope include rugged
or rubber-armoured design, convenient mounting for attaching to a
tripod, and ergonomic design knob for focus control.
The light gathering power
of a scope is determined by the width of the objective lens, between
55mm and 80mm. The larger the objective lens, the more heavy and
expensive the scope.

waterproof and fogproof, so it will take a lot of abuse undamaged. It
comes with a cordura Vue-Thru case that protects your Fieldscope, even
when it is on the tripod. Eyepieces are sold separately.
