Evan Birding

Evan Pollock came over to KL for a short birding trip with us. it was just a 4-days trip with lots of rain but quite a fruitful visit to 2 birding sites not too far from Kuala Lumpur. The trip ended with a superb view of a pair of Red-naped Trogon while walking back to the car.

Apart from birds, we managed to see 5 types of primates (long-tailed macaque, white-thighed surili, dusky langur, pig-tailed macaque, siamang) and heard the callings of white-handed gibbon.

The bird list

black-and-red broadbill, buff-vented woodpecker, crimson-winged woodpecker, sultan tit, plain sunbird, purple-naped sunbird, plaintive cuckoo, blue-winged leafbird, black-naped monarch, gold-whiskered barbet, drongo cuckoo, green magpie, red-headed trogon, red-naped trogon,

The mammal list

long-tailed macaque, pig-tailed macaque, dusky langur, white-thighed surili, siamang.
