Roger’s Trip
September 7, 2009 Birds, Field trips, Wildlife
On the first day of Roger’s trip in Peninsular Malaysia, we went to a mangrove park and rice field. Since this is Roger’s first visit to Southeast Asia, anything that moves is worth taking a photo. So, the followings are from the first and second day.
On the third day, we went around the highland looking for more birds, mammals and butterflies. We started the day with a short bird photography session and continued with exploring the highland for more photography subjects. While traveling on the road, we found a ‘baby’ wild boar, At night, we went spider hunting and even found a toad. Here are the photos from third day.
On fourth day, we only spent 2 hours in the highland and since Roger love the butterfly trail, we decided to change the itinerary. We headed back to the forest for more butterflies, true enough, Roger gets more photographs today. Of course, there were also new birds and reptiles for him.
On the final day, we took Roger to a lowland forest and sure enough he spent a lot of time enjoying the forested area with lots of photography opportunities.
Here are the highlights of Roger’s trip.

Testimonial from Roger:
Thank you for an outstanding 5 days of bird/butterfly watching and nature photography. Your knowledge of birds was excellent, and I greatly appreciate your attention to the smallest details of the trip. I also appreciate your enthusiasm around natural history in general. My favorite was the Sunda Colugo (flying lemur) - I never knew such an animal existed, and this supposedly noctural creature was delightfully active for us.
Feel free to pass on my name and e-mail address as a reference. I can recommend you highly to anyone interested in birdwatching and general natural history.
Kind regards,
Roger
