Birding in Singapore

I took the little opportunities I had when I was in Singapore recently. Thanks to Ding Li and Tony & wife for showing me around the spot for nightjars. It’s been a long time since my last bird watching in the island republic. In one of the morning, I walked to Bukit Batok Nature Reserve, which I consider a great site for urban birding. 2 Greater racket-tailed Drongo were extremely friendly, while the Striped Tit Babbler were even more friendlier. As I reached the pond in the center of the reserve, there were Stork-billed Kingfisher and White-throated Kingfisher. Then, I got a glimpse of a Blue-eared Kingfisher. A supposely rare Crested Serpent Eagle was sighted above the reserve. The other highlight of this trip is 2 Spotted Wood Owl.
